Camp Casey, South Korea

Entry to Camp Casey -- Fall 2011

Living as a military wife in a foreign country is a role I never imagined I would fulfill.  The Lord has an interesting way of placing us in situations that require us to trust Him in deeper ways than we ever have before. This has become evident over my life especially with this latest adventure of living in South Korea during our first year of marriage.  I've learned to trust Christ in a deeper way as he continues to go with me in every new experience and this has led to a deeper relationship and understanding of who our Lord is.

Jason has been here in Korea serving with the Army for 7 months. He is currently working as a platoon leader for an armor company, Crazy Co. He is currently training in the field with his battalion for a couple of weeks. I had the pleasure of joining him 3 months ago and have been challenged and blessed as I've grown in my new role as a military wife. I still have a great deal to learn about what it means to be a military wife and how to gracefully move from place to place; thankfully, I have been blessed with friendships that have provided support in this new role. Here there are several Christian women around base that have more years of experience as military wives that have encouraged me in these first few months. In addition to those that I have met here several military couples have been fundamental in supporting Jason and I as we begin this new adventure.  Jason's grandparents who retired from the navy and friends Mark & Kathy, retired army, have provided great support as well as current army couples Megan & Jason and Ben & Karis whom we met while Jason was at Ft. Benning, GA for basic training and OCS (Officer Candidate School).  As well as loving friends and family that  have supported us and continue to support us.

If you are reading this and know Jason and I, you have supported us in someway and for that we want to thank you! This blog is where we will be sharing about our adventures with the military and for the time being our adventure here in South Korea.
